How it started, and why it still matters

Austin Tax Pros opened in 2005, helping local owners untangle QuickBooks files that had gotten away from them. Over and over, the same pattern showed up. A tax problem would land on the desk, and underneath it was something else: books that fell behind, a system set up in a hurry, or nobody watching the numbers between filings.

So the practice grew in that direction. Tax filing became the starting point, not the whole job. Today, we help Texas owners with their taxes, their books, and the systems behind both, and we stick around to keep it all working.

Eric Marquez, Founder

Eric founded Austin Tax Pros in 2005 after years of helping owners bring order to their books. His background spans a boutique tax law firm, where he worked on IRS matters, and roles as a fractional CFO, COO, and turnaround leader across retail, wholesale, and non-profit organizations. He has sat in the CFO chair himself, so he knows what owners are up against when the numbers don't add up.

This firm is not a CPA firm, and its services are not regulated by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.
